2014 STEVENSON MOTORSPORTS AT VIR:
No. 6 Camaro Z/28.R – Andrew Davis & Robin Liddell
No. 9 Camaro Z/28.R – Matt Bell & Andy Lally

QUICK LOOK AT THE OAK TREE GRAND PRIX: Stevenson Motorsports is a two-time winner at VIR. Current drivers Robin Liddell and Andrew Davis delivered consecutive GRAND-AM Rolex Series victories at the track for Stevenson Motorsports in 2008 & 2009.  The team brings the Camaro Z/28.R to VIR for the first time and was also the first to bring a Chevrolet Camaro to action at the track in KONI Challenge competition in 2009.

DRIVER SUCCESS AT VIR:
All four Stevenson Motorsports drivers have seen success at VIR:
– Andy Lally: VIR winner in GRAND-AM Rolex Series — 2006 & 2010
– Robin Liddell: VIR winner in GRAND-AM Rolex Series — 2008 & 2009; Scored pole for Stevenson Motorsports in 2011
– Andrew Davis VIR winner in GRAND-AM Rolex Series — 2008 & 2009
– Matt Bell finished second in the 2010 VIR Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge event

2014 CHAMPIONSHIP PURSUIT: With the team’s mid-season surge, Stevenson Motorsports is now a strong championship contender for the title. Stevenson Motorsports has four wins (Sebring, Watkins Glen, CTMP, Indianapolis) and two poles (Indy, CTMP) so far this year. The No. 6 Camaro Z/28.R team of Liddell and Davis is second in the championship and the brother No. 9 Camaro Z/28.R team of Bell and Lally is seventh.

PREVIOUSLY…. AT ROAD AMERICA: After a storming drive all the way from 16th to second place in the final half hour of the Continental Tire Road Race Showcase at Road America, Robin Liddell and Andrew Davis stretched Stevenson Motorsports’ late-season podium streak to four races. The 2.5-hour race at Road America was an eventful one for the brother Stevenson Camaros as both ran strong throughout but were pinged for late-race penalties. Unfortunately for Andy Lally in the No. 9 Stevenson Motorsports Camaro Z/28.R, the penalty came too late for him to fight his way back up the pack and he took the checkered flag in 14th position after taking over from co-driver Matt Bell. The result was a disappointing one after Lally had led the race and ran in podium contention for most of his stint.

WHAT’S NEW?: With the dawn of the new era in sports car racing this season, Stevenson Motorsports has switched their focus solely to the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, competing with their brand new Camaro Z/28.R. This year’s race marks the first time the team has competed at the track solely in Continental Tire competition.

THE 2013 CHAMPIONSHIP: Stevenson Motorsports secured a second consecutive runner-up position in the championship with drivers Matt Bell and John Edwards who combined for two wins on the year in the Chevrolet Camaro GS.R. The team amassed six podiums and finished among the top-10 in all but two races, remaining in contention for the championship all season long.
