BIG (AND SMALL!) DEBUTS IN THE BIG APPLE

 
Design, technological innovation, energy efficiency, power and performance were just some of the features of the new cars and trucks unveiled today by the world’s automakers at the 2019 New York International Auto Show. 
Here are some of yesterday’s press conference highlights:

Kia HabaNiro
The HabaNiro concept is a fully-electric, all-wheel drive, four-seat wonder car with an all-electric range of more than 300 miles, level-five autonomous mode and butterfly wing doors. It is a look into the future of mobility where automobiles will seamlessly integrate design, capability, usefulness and creativity that is as comfortable navigating city streets, carving turns on a coastal road and off-roading with confidence to remote wilderness adventures.
Lincoln Corsair
The Lincoln Corsair, a five-passenger, two-row compact luxury crossover combines spirited agility with responsive adaptability to deliver an exciting ride that is fun to drive. Flowing exterior design lines combined with interior airiness and serene quietness creates a sense of sanctuary. Technologies such as a Head-Up Display, standard Lincoln Co-Pilot360™ and Phone As A Key are designed to create an effortless experience for drivers of the all-new Lincoln Corsair
 
Genesis Mint Concept
The Mint Concept introduces the all-electric, luxury car for the city with a new vehicle typology, featuring organic design and an innovative interior user experience. The Mint Concept respects city life and the challenges it dispatches on a regular basis. The lightweight runabout re-imagines the iconic shape of the city car, tailored to the needs of modern lifestyle. Mint is both highly maneuverable and exhilarating to drive.
Toyota Highlander

The 2020 Highlander’s new sophisticated look covers a new vehicle platform called Toyota New Global Architecture, that enables even greater capability, comfort and safety. The fourth-generation Highlander offers the choice between a powerful V6 or new-generation hybrid powertrain, with the gas version offering a manufacturer-estimated 22 MPG combined fuel economy and the Hybrid offering an manufacturer-estimated 34 MPG combined fuel economy.
Mercedes-Benz GLS
The new Mercedes-Benz GLS is the largest and most luxurious SUV from Mercedes-Benz and above all, offers more: more space, more comfort, more luxury. Also celebrating its world premiere in the GLS is a new engine: the GLS 580 4MATIC will have an electrified V8 engine featuring EQ Boost – a 48-volt onboard electrical system with an integrated starter generator. The GLS 450 4MATIC will feature a 3.0-liter inline-6 turbo engine with EQ Boost.
   Subaru Outback
The all-new 2020 sixth-generation Outback SUV comes standard with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and Subaru’s award-winning EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. With an available tablet-style 11.6-inch SUBARU STARLINK™ Multimedia system with integrated center information display, DriverFocus™ Distraction Mitigation System and new XT models with 260 horsepower, the 2020 Outback delivers greater technology, safety and performance than ever before.

Hyundai Venue
Hyundai introduced its all-new 2020 Venue, the latest SUV to join its growing product lineup. Venue is packed with a host of premium driver safety and convenience technologies and is the perfect fit for those seeking a seamless combination of style and versatility.
Porsche 911 Speedster
Powered by a naturally-aspirated 4.0 liter flat-six engine capable of up to 9,000 rpm, the 2019 911 Speedster develops 502 horsepower and 346 lb-ft of torque. To deliver a particularly engaging driving experience highly desired by purists, the 911 Speedster is available exclusively with a GT Sport six-speed manual transmission. 0 to 60 miles per hour happens in just 3.8 seconds, and the top track speed is 192 miles per hour.
Cadillac CT5
This all-new compact sedan is a distinctive fusion of design, performance and comfort, supported by Cadillac’s latest technologies – including Super Cruise1, the world’s first true hands-free driver assistance feature for limited-access freeways. At launch, the model range will include Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport, with a Platinum package available on Premium Luxury and Sport models: a 2.0L Twin-Scroll Turbo engine is standard and Cadillac’s 3.0L Twin-Turbo V-6 is available on Premium Luxury and Sport models.
Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio NRING
Alfa Romeo today unveiled the limited-edition 2019 Quadrifoglio NRING (Nürburgring) vehicles for North America, limited to only 110 total examples between Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio. The NRING editions take the Quadrifoglio lineup to its extreme, celebrating Alfa Romeo’s century-plus history in racing and its unique connection to one of motorsport’s most celebrated and challenging racetracks.
Jaguar XE
The new XE appears wider and lower with larger front apertures and a more muscular design that hints at the car’s impressive performance and advanced aerodynamics. On the inside the 2020 Jaguar XE features an all-new inner door design that improves usability. The new interior also features extensive use of soft-touch material as well as more convenience and comfort as well as additional storage. The premium feel of the interior is advanced by the introduction of the optional dual touch screen.
Nissan GT-R 50th Anniversary
The 2020 Nissan GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition takes the nameplate to a level that was unimaginable when it was first introduced 50 years ago. The special edition car will come in three heritage-era, two-tone exterior color combinations meant to represent the GT-R’s liveries from the Japan GP series – of which the original GT-R was born to dominate in. Retired since the GT-R “R34” model, Bayside (Wangan) Blue makes a return, complete with white racing stripes.
