2014 CHAMPIONSHIP PURSUIT: Stevenson Motorsports took over the championship lead for the first time in the team’s 12 year history when Andrew Davis and Robin Liddell scored a podium finish of second in the previous IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge round at Virginia International Raceway. Stevenson Motorsports now leads the championship with a two-point advantage as the 2014 season enters the penultimate round of competition. The sister No. 9 Camaro Z/28.R of Matt Bell and Andy Lally sits eighth in the standings.

A Look Back at COTA 2013: Contact in both the Rolex Series and Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge debut COTA events last year saw Stevenson Motorsports unable to produce the results the team was capable of. The team now looks for redemption in its return to the Austin circuit. Andy Lally raced in ALMS competition at the track last year in GTC and finished third.

PREVIOUSLY…. AT VIR: Stevenson Motorsports delivered a big performance at Virginia International Raceway when Andrew Davis and Robin Liddell stormed through the field to not only score a runner-up finish, but also capture the championship lead for the team. The brother No. 9 Camaro Z/28.R of Andy Lally and Matt Bell showed great promise in the early stages of the race until a minor mechanical issue saw the team fall several laps down.

TESTING, TESTING…: Stevenson Motorsports recently tested at Road Atlanta in preparation for the upcoming season-finale event held at the Georgia road course. Drivers Andy Lally and Matt Bell were both on hand to test the No. 9 Stevenson Motorsports Camaro Z.28.R.

WHAT’S NEW?: With the dawn of the new era in sports car racing this season, Stevenson Motorsports has switched their focus solely to the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, competing with their brand new Camaro Z/28.R. This year’s race marks the first time the team has competed at the track solely in Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge competition.

THE 2013 CHAMPIONSHIP: Stevenson Motorsports secured a second consecutive runner-up position in the championship with drivers Matt Bell and John Edwards who combined for two wins on the year in the Chevrolet Camaro GS.R. The team amassed six podiums and finished among the top-10 in all but two races, remaining in contention for the championship all season long.
