Michael Marsal Set to Finish Season Strong at Road Atlanta

michael_marsal_racing_1Braselton, Ga. (29 September 2014) – After a mid-season surge including some strong drives in the previous two rounds of competition, Michael Marsal heads to Road Atlanta with confidence and excitement for the final round of the 2014 IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge championship (Friday, live stream on www.imsa.com 1:15 PM ET).

Along with Turner Motorsport co-driver Tom Kimber-Smith, Marsal has led the race and scored top-10 finishes in the previous two races with a podium highlight at Circuit of the Americas. Marsal is now ready to add a final strong finish for 2014 in his No. 97 Turner Motorsport BMW M3.

In last year’s race around the tricky 2.54-mile circuit, Marsal netted a fifth place result, and knows what it takes to be successful.

“It’s been a good season with Turner Motorsport,” said Marsal. “We have definitely had our ups and downs, but through it all the team has just been great and worked so hard. These last two races were awesome. Honestly, the car has been great so it has just been a lot of fun to drive. So I am really looking forward to Road Atlanta and I have raced there before and we had a good run there last year. It’s important to be able to put a good lap together as well as just stay out of anyone else’s problems because it is a tricky place in traffic. Hopefully we can end the season on a high note.”

Marsal will have two practice sessions ahead of qualifying for the 2.5-hour race Thursday at 5:05 PM (ET). The race will go green on Friday at 1:15 PM (ET) and will be streamed LIVE on IMSA.com. FOX Sports 1 will air the race at 12:00 PM (ET) on October 12.
