Alton, Va. (21 August 2014) – With just three races remaining, the 2014 IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge championship enters the home stretch of its season this weekend and Michael Marsal is eager to return to the historic Virginia International Raceway to finish his season strongly.

Along with his co-driver, Tom Kimber-Smith, Marsal and his No. 97 Turner Motorsport BMW M3 have experienced a variance of highs and lows throughout the season, which kicked off with a run to the podium at Daytona. They now look to the revered 17-turn, 3.27-mile road course at VIR to add another highlight to the year.

Marsal has three previous starts around the famous circuit, and is prepared to make the most of his experience in this weekend’s 2.5-hour race. He and the entire Turner Motorsport team know what it takes to win around the course, as they took home a win in Marsal’s debut at the track in 2010.

“VIR is always a lot of fun,” said Marsal. “I have some good memories of the track with Turner and since it’s been a few years since I made those memories I would say it’s about time to replace them with another solid finish. This season has been up and down, but the whole Turner Motorsport team has been working so hard and we have really learned even more about the car. Hopefully it is quick on this new surface.”

A promoter test day on Thursday will see the Turner Motorsrport team back in action at VIR. Marsal will have two official practice sessions ahead of qualifying on Friday at 5:10 PM (ET). Round 10 of the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge will go green on Saturday at 2:05 PM (ET) and will be streamed LIVE on IMSA.com.

The race will be broadcast on FOX Sports 1 August 31st at 10:00 AM (ET).
