The Tudor United SportsCar Championship has started with testing and balance of performance setting. Balance of performance is the way that they adjust the cars all to be equal or close for competition among the race teams. This is done with weight and air intake into the engine. Next up will be testing for the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona in January,2014 with testing “The Roar”, January 3 to the 5th, 2014.

Michael Shank and Chip Ganassi Racing were seen testing at Daytona this Wed. and Thursday.

NEW CLASSES: IMSA has limited the number of cars per class per race. You now have 2 classes of Prototypes and 2 classes of GT cars, similar to before but with the (P) Prototypes being the Daytona Prototypes and the ALMS Prototypes. The (PC) or Prototype Challenge are all Oreca FLMS09 cars. In (GTLM) or GT Le Mans are basically the factory teams with Corvette, Porsche, BMW, Ferrari and Aston Martin. The (GTD) the GT Daytona cars are all the rest of the teams. You will find 12 Porsches GT Americas, 4 Audi R8’s, 6 Ferrari 458 Italia’s, 2 Aston Martin V!@ Vantage, 1 SRT Viper, 1 BM Z4. We will see how this all works out.
