Pataskala, Ohio (10 January 2015) – Michael Shank Racing is pleased to announce the return of Curb Records for the 2015 IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship season.

As part of the extended relationship, the team name will continue as Michael Shank Racing with Curb/Agajanian.

Mike Curb and Curb Records have a long history of wins in over 40 years of involvement in motorsports. The organization looks to add to that legacy in 2015 as Michael Shank Racing with Curb/Agajanian returns to TUDOR Championship competition with its new Honda-powered Ligier PS J2 platform.

Curb Records first partnered with the team for the 2010 Rolex 24 At Daytona when Michael Shank Racing fielded Justin Wilson, Michael McDowell, and AJ Allmendinger in a Daytona Prototype. Since then, the relationship has grown with Curb having won the 2012 Rolex 24 At Daytona with the team. Curb Records also partnered with Michael Shank Racing for the inaugural TUDOR Championship season, highlighted by a second place finish at Road America.

“Michael Shank has a first-class effort, and we are proud to continue to be a part of it,” said Mike Curb. “We were sponsors when Dale Earnhardt won the 1980 NASCAR championship and of course, the memory that we all are so fond of was when Richard Petty won his 200th race with our car with President Reagan at Daytona. We have had the honor to achieve many great things in the world of motorsports and we’re looking forward to adding to that list with Michael Shank Racing again this year. It is pretty exciting to see the new car and this program has a lot of potential.”

As Michael Shank Racing with Curb/Agajanian embarks on an exciting new venture in sports car racing in 2015 with the move from the Daytona Prototype machinery to the Honda-Ligier, everyone involved anticipates a big year to come.

“It is great to have Mike (Curb) back on board in 2015,” said Team Owner Mike Shank. “It’s amazing when you think about some of the accomplishments that he has been a part of through the years and it is always gratifying to have someone who has supported you in the past, come back and step up again. We are all very excited about what is to come this year. We’ve now tested the car and that has only added to our excitement and we are ready to take on the 2015 TUDOR Championship and see what we can do with this Honda-Ligier.”

John Pew and Ozz Negri return as drivers of the No. 60 Honda powered Ligier for the full 2015 season with young racing sensation Matt McMurry joining the team for the Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup events. NASCAR Sprint Cup driver AJ Allmendinger returns to the team for the Rolex 24 At Daytona fresh from his breakthrough season with JTG/Daugherty Racing.

Michael Shank Racing with Curb/Agajanian recently completed a successful first test with the No. 60 Honda Ligier at Palm Beach International Raceway. The team is on track this weekend at Daytona International Speedway for the annual ‘Roar Before the 24’ test days held ahead of the big Rolex 24 At Daytona season-opening event on January 24, 2015.

Michael Shank Racing will announce additional partnerships in the coming weeks.
