Walt’s Words – 9/27/2016 at Road Atlanta’s Petit Le Mans

Here we are again at the end of another racing season

Summer is gone and autumn has arrived with the dropping of leaves and acorns.

On my way to the last race of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at Road Atlanta, the Petit Le mans.  A 10 hour race  at this great track, which I consider won of the best road tracks in the US with it’s elevation changes several times, enormous straight, deceiving corners from small to large to dropping off and blind, just a great track.

Anyway we are about to see a changing of the classes.  There will be several changing from PC Prototype Challenge and P Prototype to the GT Daytona class for the 2017 season.  One team that I have known for over 10 years is the Michael Shank Racing Team that at this race will have their 250th race.  Quite an accomplishment.

You can read more on the Michael Shank Racing Team post and several others for the up coming race and I will have a race summary.

Oh and If I didn’t tell you or if you did not read my last article, the 2017 Porsche 911 RSR has been granted by the FIA an exemption to move their engine and transmission.  Where do you think it was moved to?  We will see!!

For now, see you at a race or event soon!

Safe travels.!
