Walt’s Weekly – 02/07/2016 Super

Today being “SUPER BOWL SUNDAY” I have in news included some of the new teams that have been invited to the 24 hours of Le Mans.  The 24 hours of Le Mans, I consider to be the “SUPER RACE EVENT” for all the teams that participate as many are only invited to participate.  It’s like getting an invitation to the White House and to meet the President, not getting involved with politics, only one example.

Anyway as many of us are preparing for “SUPER BOWL SUNDAY” I present the new participants from the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship series:

1: Risi Competizione Ferrari

2: Jordan and Ricky Taylor brothers with Corvette

Also today is the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 hour-Australia’s only international endurance race.  You can find it on twitter @Bathurst12hour as many of the race drivers that had participated in the Rolex 24 hours of Daytona have flown across the globe to be in this race.  I will be putting up in ‘Tracks’ the track map which looks a little like Watkins Glen.

The track is a public road for the majority of the year and is 174 metres from the bottom of the circuit (Pit Staright) to to top of Skyline with race directions counter-clockwise, well so much for being like Watkins Glen.

Length is 6.213 km with the straight of 1.916km.

So that is what’s new and also check out the New York International Auto Show coming up.

Next WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is Sebring,FL, March 18-19th.

See you at Sebring!

Having a tough time figuring out km to miles, the course is 3.86 miles long, straight is 1.19 miles long with an elevation change of 570.9 feet.

FYI: To change Km to miles divide by 8 and multiply by 5, simple but effective.

THE END: Well if you have read about the 12 hours of Bathurst, ITS OVER!  You can read about it in NEWS.
