Team TGM’s Porsche Caymans ends season at Home

TeamTGM to Close Out 2016 IMSA Season at Home

Road Atlanta sets the stage for IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge season-finale

Braselton, Ga. (26 September 2016) – As the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge season comes to a close at Road Atlanta, TeamTGM’s home track, the team and drivers Ted Giovanis and Guy Cosmo look to end the year on a high note.

Cosmo and Giovanis first joined forces at Road America earlier this year and stormed to a podium finish of third with the squad’s Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport. The duo has faced some challenges in the following races with weather catching the team out at VIR and a brake issue taking the car out early at Circuit of the Americas two weeks ago.

Ready to turn the page forward, TeamTGM which operates out of a shop near the Road Atlanta facility, is well-prepared for the 2.54-mile road course that they call home. And with the weather forecast calling for some near perfect conditions, everyone anticipates a positive outing.

Road Atlanta is one of Giovanis’ favorite tracks on the 2016 schedule and he’s eager to get to work this weekend.

“I am excited to be home at Road Atlanta,” said Giovanis of the finale weekend. “We continue to fine tune our cars and our set up and the TeamTGM cars look to be about right for Road Atlanta. Also, the weather looks to be good as in not as hot as the past couple of races, so the track should be good. This is my favorite track and am looking forward to a great finish to the year that we can carry into 2017.”

Cosmo, a veteran with loads of laps around the Road Atlanta circuit, has competed in several Petit Le Mans events in prototype machinery, and has stood on the Petit podium several times. He targets a return to the Road Atlanta podium on Friday.

“I’m excited about our prospects heading into Road Atlanta,” offered Cosmo. “The team has put in so much work since COTA two weeks ago and we’ve got a few new setups that we’re going to try on the cars. Our Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsports should be great around the demands of Road Atlanta with its high loads and elevation changes and it would be great to end the season on a high note with another podium or better yet, our first win, especially with this being TGM’s home race. I love this track and I am ready for action.”

The race week kicks off with a promoter test day on Tuesday, September 27. A 45-minute official practice session takes place on Friday followed by another practice and qualifying on Thursday afternoon.

The 2.5-hour race begins on Friday at 12:25 PM ET and will be streamed LIVE on IMSA.tv.
