Team TGM Returns to Sebring

TeamTGM Returns to Battle at Sebring International Raceway

Braselton, Ga. (11 March 2019) – Reigning IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge (IMPC) GS champions, TeamTGM return to racing action for the Alan Jay Automotive Network 120 at Sebring International Raceway this weekend.

The second stop on the IMPC calendar sees the team look to take on the legendary 3.74-mile Florida circuit as part of a blockbuster event that includes both the FIA World Endurance Championship as well as IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship races.

In its second year with the Mercedes-AMG GT4, the TeamTGM duo aims to return to victory circle in the team’s encore 2019 race appearance in the Sunshine State.

2018 Champions Hugh Plumb and Owen Trinkler will wheel the No. 46 Jayne Koskinas Ted Giovanis Foundation (JKTG) / Camp Boggy Creek Mercedes-AMG GT4 with Ted Giovanis and Guy Cosmo behind the wheel of the No. 4 JKTG Foundation / Camp Boggy Creek Mercedes-AMG GT4.

After Daytona’s four-hour enduro race format, the Sebring round will feature a two-hour sprint to the finish. The unmistakable, iridescent beauty that is the No. 4 Mercedes-AMG GT4 will take the track with the Giovanis-Cosmo duo bringing their knowledge and experience to the 17-turn course.

“TeamTGM feels pretty good about the Mercedes-AMG platform for 2019,” said Giovanis. “In the end, Daytona was not going to be the strongest track for the AMG. We’ve got that race behind us and we expect to be in a better position for Sebring!”

“Sebring is one of my favorite tracks,” said Cosmo. “I feel it provides a number of challenges with both high speed, challenging corners like Turns 1 and 17, the slow, technical bits like turns 3, 4 and 5 and it has just a great flow. But of course, those bumps! It’s a place that really challenges a driver and team as well, to set the car up appropriately. The Mercedes will be strong in its general ability to handle better than most of our competition. It’s very mild-mannered and that’s important over the bumps and undulations that Sebring presents.”

Owen Trinkler and Hugh Plumb get back in the driver’s seat of the No. 46 and the dynamic pair translated their driving and team chemistry to on-track success – fighting to add more to the TeamTGM winning resume. Trinkler and Plumb both drip with experience at Sebring. Trinkler brings on-track dominance as he scored an IMPC podium finish in 2017 and an ST class win in 2016 with Plumb also adding a GS podium finish of his own in 2016.

“I think the Mercedes-AMG GT4 is really good on the bumps at Sebring,” said Trinkler. “I feel confident that we will go back with a year under our belt and that we have good package that we have a strong handle on now. We are learning every day about the Michelin tire and we will continue to learn during Sebring. I’m excited to get back to a true road course and it’s one of my favorite tracks. I won there in 2016 and got a second place finish in 2017 so it’s a track that I have a good history on, which makes it even more exciting to head back to.”

“I’m really looking forward to a good race at Sebring this week,” said Plumb. “Bouncing back is something that TGM does and does well. We have some work to do after a sub par finish at Daytona to get back in the points but I am confident that we can pull off a good result at Sebring.”
