Strategic Wealth Racing Looks to Lime Rock Park

Strategic Wealth Racing Looks Forward to Lime Rock Park Return

Lakeville, Conn. (18 July 2016) – For Strategic Wealth Racing drivers Matt Dicken and Corey Lewis, Lime Rock Park is a place that holds fond memories, and both are looking to race their way toward some new highlights this Saturday as the duo returns to IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge action.

Both Dicken and Lewis visited the track early on in their motorsport careers, with Lewis taking his first-ever Skip Barber Racing school at the Connecticut racing facility when he was just 14 years old. Dicken utilized the 1.5-mile circuit for testing prior to making the transition into IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge competition in 2015.

Lewis actually won his very first Skip Barber event at the track in 2007 when he led from the drop of the green flag all the way to the checkered.

Last year, when the Strategic Wealth Racing team made its debut at Lime Rock Park, the squad led its first-ever laps in IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge action. The Goldcrest Motorsports-supported effort saw Lewis open the race and move up to lead 15 laps.

As the group heads to Lime Rock Park for Round 6 of the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge championship this weekend, the squad is looking to rebound from its previous outing at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in which the No. 36 Porsche Cayman sustained contact from behind early in the race and left Strategic Wealth Racing playing catch up for the remainder of the race.

“After getting our first podium together at the Glen, it was of course disappointing to get hit at Mosport but we have bounced back before and that’s our goal this weekend,” said Dicken. “Last year, I drove the closing segment of the Lime Rock race and I learned a lot. This is a track that rewards having confidence and I think my experience last year is going to help us in the race on Saturday. Just like Mosport, it is a tight, high-speed place. You have to be aggressive, but also patient! Hopefully we can get back onto the podium and kick off some more momentum for the second half of the season.”

After claiming a podium finish of third at the Glen two races ago, Strategic Wealth Racing is all the more hungry for the taste of the champagne showers with a return trip to the podium. And for a track that has been the site of many “firsts” for the team and its drivers, the group is confident of a positive result.

“Matt (Dicken) and I look to continue building on the success that we had at Watkins Glen,” said Lewis. “Lime Rock Park was the first proper race track I drove so it’s a special place for me. I’m looking forward to being back at Lime Rock Park. Last year we were able to lead our first laps with an alternate strategy. Lime Rock has always been an enjoyable track for racing, it’s the short track racing of IMSA in my opinion. Fans can see some really great battles there.”

The quick two-day race weekend will see two practice sessions on Friday followed by a 15-minute qualifying session at 3:25 PM ET. The race will go green on Saturday at 10:00 AM ET and can be viewed LIVE on IMSA.tv.

FOX Sports 1 will televise the Lime Rock Park event on Sunday, July 31 at 12:00 PM ET.
