Strategic Wealth Racing Investing in Road America Race

Strategic Wealth Racing Focused Forward at Road America

As the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge stages Round 7 of the championship at Road America, IMSA sophomore team Strategic Wealth Racing looks to make the most of its No. 36 Strategic Wealth Designs Porsche Cayman around the historic sweeping 4-mile road course located in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin this Saturday.

The Road America round follows a disappointing outing around the tight “Bull Ring” at Lime Rock Park two weeks ago that didn’t necessarily allow the No. 36 Strategic Wealth Racing machine to fully stretch its legs. After getting their first taste of post-race champagne just three races ago at Watkins Glen International, drivers Matt Dicken and Corey Lewis are eager for another strong run this weekend as IMSA visits another iconic American track.

In the 2015 edition of the Continental Tire Road Race Showcase held at Road America, the duo proved the strength and stamina of their Cayman on the high speed circuit as Dicken and Lewis drove to their first top-10 result together. Now with an entire season of experience behind them as well as a recent podium at Watkins Glen, a similar sweeping, high speed course like Road America, the Goldcrest Motorsports-prepared team hopes to make another run to the podium.

“Road America could be a good place for us – last year we came home with a solid result and I think it is a place that the team really knows and everyone looks forward to,” said Dicken. “Road America is an awesome place to be, even if you are just running there solo for a test day. Getting to race there is even better, especially with having so many good cars in the ST class. The competition is outstanding, so when you are able to come out with a big result like we did at the Glen, it’s really rewarding.”

The squad is especially eager to be back in racing action around a track that should be well suited to the strengths of the Porsche Cayman.

“The whole crew, Matt (Dicken), everybody on this team has stepped their game up more than we could have imagined and more than I expected throughout the season,” explained Monster Energy athlete Lewis. “I’m super proud of everybody. I’m proud of Matt. His pace is getting quicker and quicker every race we go to. It’s something to be proud of. We’re going to keep pushing and keep getting better and fight for top-10 finishes the rest of the year.”

Strategic Wealth Racing will participate in a Promoter Test Day on Thursday. With just two 45-minute practice sessions on Friday prior to qualifying, the team looks to put the data that’s been gathered all season long to work in order to roll off the truck fast and qualify well for Saturday’s 2 hour and 30 minute race.

The race will be streamed LIVE on IMSA.tv and will air on FS1 Sunday, August 14 at 11:00 AM (ET).
